The defending WNBA-champion New York Liberty look to stay undefeated on the season when they visit the people’s champion: Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

New York has cruised so far in 2025, winning both games by double digits, while the Fever just split a home-and-home set with Atlanta.

The Liberty are 3.5-point road favorites in the WNBA odds, and the total is a hefty 171.5 points — fitting as this matchup pits the two highest scoring teams in the WNBA going head-to-head.

This one tips off Saturday afternoon at 1pm ET from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, with CBS carrying the broadcast.

New York Liberty vs Indiana Fever Picks

  • Liberty vs Fever pick: Over 171.5 points (-112)

There’s no hangover in New York, as the Liberty have come out of the gate hot.

They opened the year trouncing the Las Vegas Aces 92-78, and followed that up with a 99-74 whipping of the Chicago Sky.

New York set a league record by drilling 19 3-pointers in that one, led by Natasha Cloud, who cashed four from deep and finished with 18 points. Eight different players connected from 3-point range, including reserve Kennedy Burke, who went 4-for-4.

It’s early, but the Liberty are averaging 95.5 points over their first two games, shooting 51.5% from the field and a blistering 41.8% from 3-point range, all top rankings in the league this year.

Defensively, they’re still a Top 4 scoring defense, and lead the W in field goal shooting defense, limiting opponents to 35.1% from the field, while forcing a league-best 17 turnovers per game.

The Fever will get their first look at the defending champs, as they’re pegged as one of three teams tied for the second-best WNBA Championship odds.

Clark is coming off a bit of her own personal history, as she broke the league record for most career 25-point, 10-assist games when her Fever dropped a close 91-90 decision to Atlanta.

They bounced back in the most recent matchup, scoring an 81-76 win. While Clark logged a season-low 11 points, teammate Natasha Howard picked up the slack, finishing with a game-high 26 points.

The retooled Indiana roster has plenty of firepower, with Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston and Howard all excellent pieces to make life easier for Clark.

The Fever are second in scoring at 88 points per game, and are shooting 46.5% from the field and 36.1% from distance.

Defensively, they’re right behind the Liberty in field goal defense, holding teams to 35.5% shooting from the field, 27.9% from 3-point range and 75 points per game, all Top-3 marks in the league.

Expect the offense to flow in this early-season showdown. New York and Indiana have crossed the Over seven times in the last nine head-to-head matchups.

In front of a raucous Indiana home crowd, expect these teams to go shot for shot with each other in a potential (early) WNBA Finals preview.

Let’s focus on Clark, who will try to bounce back from her lowest scoring output of the season in a showdown with the defending champs.

She’s only played the Liberty three times in her young career, and all three were within her first 11 games of her WNBA career.

Clark scored in single digits twice, but she did top her 21.5 scoring line once, dropping 22 in a 91-80 loss.

It feels like an eternity ago, and Clark is closer to the star we’ve all expected her to be coming out of Iowa.

Her shooting is still down at 43.2% this year, which is an improvement, but her 3-point shooting is now at 37.5%, while she’s increased both her rebound and assist totals.

These are the games the WNBA built to showcase Clark, to the national audience. Expect her to excel on Saturday.

  • Liberty vs Fever player prop bet: Clark Over 21.5 points (-110)
